This Mini was purchased with an MOT but was looking very tired, so I decided to strip it for a freshen up and it turned into a full blown resto with some modifications. The shell was stripped and blasted and needed some shell repairs, as well as a rear valance, 2 outer sills, 2 a panels, 2 wings, a scuttle a bonnet and a boot lid, the shell was also de-seamed along with all of these repairs. Once the body repairs were finished the shell was prepared primed and then painted, I though an eye catching saltire on the roof would look good, this was painted in metallic blue with a base white and then lacquer. I also wanted to make the Mini as comfortable as possible so I fitted a pair of Recaro recliners and trimmed the rear seats to match and fitted a burr walnut dash with triple clocks. I fitted a sony CD player with some Infinity and JBL speakers. The suspension was given a going over with all bushes replaced with polyurethane ones the trumpets were replaced with Hi-Los and shocks with adjustable GAZ shocks. The brakes were overhauled with all new parts braided hoses and EBC Green stuff pads. The engine was partially stripped and a new oil pump, turbo clutch plate , thrust bearing, head gasket ( head fully de-coked ) new inlet and outlet manifolds ( with a full stainless exhaust ) and upgraded to a HIF44 with a K&N with a new needle. Once all back together a fresh MOT was put on and currently get used for shows and occasionally trips for the papers.
